CNN is bringing in an ex-chief executive of the BBC and The New York Times in an attempt to turn around a news business that has burned through two executives and lost viewers in the last two years. David Zaslav, CEO of CNN's parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, announced the appointment of Mark Thompson as chair and CEO on Wednesday.
